Jenn White was born in
Wiesbaden, Germany and grew up in Lawrence,
Massachusetts. Jenn has been an artist from an early age and avidly pursued an
education in the fine arts during her years at Lawrence High School, including
participation in Saturday art classes at the Massachusetts College of Art,
Boston while still attending high school. Jenn graduated from Rivier College in
1991 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and was President of the Rivier Fine
Art Society during her final year.
Jenn had struggled with artist
block for over a dozen years. At first, it was small things: projects started,
planned out, but not completed. Then the ideas and projects started stacking up
and, from there, an acute struggle with facing the blank page developed. In
March of 2013, in an effort to finally overcome the block, she completed a
30-day art journal challenge. The most important lesson learned was simply to
“play” again. Out of this exercise evolved the I Ching Project: a series of 64
mixed-media paintings based on the I Ching (The Book of Changes) – a mixture of
order and chaos. The I Ching Project was completed on August 26th,
2015.
Jenn’s current shows/exhibitions include: "PATTERNS" at the ALL Gallery in Lowell, MA, the Cape Cod Art Association “All New England” national juried show, 'The Holiday Show' at the Pearl Street Gallery (Juried) and the Newburyport Art Association 18th Annual Regional Juried Show in which she was awarded the Strem Chemicals Inc. Award for work in Mixed Media.

the Monson Arts Council 22nd Anniversary Spring Exhibition and Sale (Juried), both the ARC Works summer and autumn shows in Peabody, MA, the Zeitgeist Gallery in Lowell, as well as the Sage Gallery and Angles and Art
both located in Haverhill.
Jenn has an avid interest in
Eastern philosophy and art and incorporates Eastern elements in her work alongside Celtic knots and organic designs. Over the course of the I Ching Project, her work has evolved and she is now focused on pushing those ideas even further in new, smaller series.
Jenn is also a VIDA designer, you can check out her collection of scarves, statement bags and clutches at: https://shopvida.com/collections/jenn-white
In order to continue her art
education, Jenn has been reading artist biographies, art-related historical
fiction and watching art documentaries and films about artists. All books and films
are listed on the WRS Reading List and Art Films tab. Suggestions are always
welcome!
Jenn currently resides in Dracut,
MA.
