Mayor's Artist of the Month for April: Methuen

Mayor Stephen N. Zanni names
Jenn White as Methuen Artist of the Month!

Methuen's Artist of the Month Program was established to give members of Methuen's art community a forum to display their work and to encourage participation in Methuen's growing creative economy.

Mayor Stephen N. Zanni has named Jenn White as Methuen's latest Artist of the Month. Growing up, Jenn fell in love with art class. Over the years, she dabbled in sculpture, photography, and painting, eventually earning a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Rivier University.
In recent years, she has found her true passion in mixed media work, which provides the creative license to use a variety of media in each piece.
She has shared four pieces of a 64-piece series in the Mayor's office this month; each piece depicts a different hexagon from the Chinese I Ching. The pieces hanging in the Mayor's office symbolize: creative action, great possessions, limitation and planning a marriage.
"I was having artist's block and just sat down at the page and began drawing what came to me," Jenn said of the birth of the impressive series.
A member of the Arts Institute Group of the Merrimack Valley, more of Jenn's work can be found at: whiteroosterstudio.blogspot.com.

We are proud to feature Jenn's work and encourage local painters, photographers, and other artists to take part in the program. If chosen, the Artist of the Month will be asked to display several works of art in my office reception area, and will receive special recognition.
